Ohio National was founded in 1909, although they did not sell their first policy until one year later. Over the next 60 years, the company entered the whole life and group insurance markets and had $1 billion of policies on the books.

From the 1960s onwards, Ohio National continued to grow and expanded into a wider range of insurance markets to provide a more varied and complete selection of products and services to their clients.
